Troubleshooting of malfunction of ignition

The manifestations of engine ignition misfire are as follows: The engine shakes severely after starting, accompanied by knocking sound, the carburetor backfires regularly, and the exhaust pipe sometimes backfires. Generally speaking, this is caused by ignition misfire.

(1) After the engine starts, the power is insufficient, and the carburetor produces regular backfire phenomenon.

(2) After the engine starts, the machine shakes, sometimes the carburetor backfires, sometimes the exhaust pipe explodes, and there is a single-cylinder knocking sound.

The causes of engine ignition misfire are as follows: The high-voltage branch lines are inserted incorrectly relative to two cylinders; the high-voltage branch lines are adjacent to two cylinders; the gap of the distributor contact is not properly adjusted; the distributor cam angle is excessively worn, uneven, or the camshaft and bushing are excessively worn and loose.

According to the following order, check and eliminate:

(1) High-voltage branch line position is wrong; (2) The adjacent two holes of the distributor cap are cross-connected.

The troubleshooting methods for engine ignition misfire are as follows:

(1) First check whether the high-voltage wires are arranged in ignition order;

(2) If the ignition order is correct, check whether the distributor cap is leaking electricity. According to the ignition order of the engine, check whether the branch lines are inserted incorrectly; check for cross-connection of the distributor head and distributor cap; if the distributor head and distributor cap are intact, check whether the cam angle is worn. Move the camshaft back and forth manually, if there is a larger clearance, it should be repaired in time.
