The Porsche Taycan is currently the first mass-produced all-electric car equipped with an 800V system, featuring a permanent magnet synchronous motor on each axle for four-wheel drive. It boasts a remarkable acceleration time of just 2.8 seconds for 0-100 km/h. The new model officially started pre-sales in the Chinese market on September 5th, with the initial pre-sale versions being the Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S, priced at 1.498 million yuan and 1.798 million yuan, respectively. Other performance versions of the new car are set to be released throughout the year. At the end of next year, Porsche will also launch the derivative version, Taycan Cross Turismo.
In 15 seconds, here’s a quick understanding of the new car:
- The 800V system, different from the common 400V in the market, offers better endurance, shorter charging times, lighter weight, and more compact cable storage.
- Integrated Porsche 4D chassis control analyzes and synchronizes all chassis systems in real-time.
- Taycan’s thermal management cools or warms high-voltage components, preventing power loss due to overheating. This ensures optimal charging efficiency when the vehicle reaches the charging station.
