According to news on January 22, BYD’s all-new pure electric compact SUV, the “Yuan UP,” made its first appearance last month in the declaration list of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Now, spy photos from road tests have been leaked online, appearing to be official images. According to the schedule, this new vehicle is expected to be officially launched in March this year.
According to the declaration information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the dimensions of this compact SUV are 4310/1830/1675mm, with a wheelbase of 2620mm. This wheelbase is 100mm shorter than the “Yuan PLUS” model. The vehicle offers optional accessories such as front grille trim, panoramic sunroof, front and rear bumper trim, door panel trim, and D-pillar trim.
A notable difference is that, unlike the existing Dynasty models, the tail badge of this car features the “BYD” logo instead of the “Yuan” character in the same seal script font as the front of the car. The “Yuan UP” will be equipped with both high and low-power permanent magnet synchronous motors, with maximum power outputs of 70 kW (TZ180XSF) and 130 kW (TZ200XSW) respectively. It will also come with a lithium iron phosphate battery.
In terms of the interior, the test car is equipped with a relatively large floating central touch screen, and a comprehensive digital instrument cluster. As the car is still in the testing phase, the design and layout of the interior are subject to change and are provided for reference only.
